Privacy at moblr

    This page is maintained by moblr to explain what usage data the site collects, why, and how you can opt out.

    What we collect

    • A random, anonymous browser ID stored in your browser (not tied to any name, email, or account).
    • Which pages you visit, in what order, and how long you stay on each.
    • Which vehicles you open, save, or compare; which priorities you pick; whether you use the "Ask Our Expert" feature.
    • Approximate city, region, and country derived from your IP address. We do not store the raw IP.
    • Device type, browser, operating system, screen size, language.
    • Optional answers if you choose to submit our 3-question demographics survey.

    What we do not collect

    • Your name, email address, phone number, or any account-identifying information unless you create an account.
    • Your raw IP address.
    • Browsing activity on other sites.
    • Anything from third-party advertising networks. We do not run ads.

    Why we collect it

    To understand which vehicles, comparisons, and topics visitors find most useful so we can improve the site, and to produce aggregate market-research insights about car-shopping behavior. Data is stored in our own database; we do not sell it.

    YouTube live shows

    moblr broadcasts live car-review shows on YouTube. During a show, our automated host reads viewer questions posted in the show's live chat so it can answer them on air.

    • The show connects to YouTube through Google sign-in (OAuth) using the channel owner's own account; viewers never sign in to moblr.
    • Chat messages are used only to answer questions during the show and are never sold or shared with third parties.
    • Comments kept for show-improvement analysis are stored under anonymous codes (for example "00001"); viewer names and identifiers are scrubbed within 24 hours.
    • We use YouTube API Services in accordance with the YouTube API Services Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.

    Retention and deletion

    Anonymous session and event data is retained for up to 24 months and then deleted or aggregated. Live-chat comments are anonymized within 24 hours of each show. To request deletion of any data connected to you — including anything from a live show chat — use the contact page below and it will be removed promptly.

    Opt out

    You can opt out of analytics at any time. Your opt-out is stored in your browser; clearing site data will reset it.
