Ask Our Expert: an AI car-buying advisor for new SUVs and sedans

Ask Our Expert is moblr's free AI car advisor. Pick one or more new vehicles, tell us how you'll use them, and get an opinionated, data-grounded answer in seconds — by text or by voice. Answers are grounded in moblr's independent meta-reviews and EPA fuel-economy data, so the numbers are real and the opinions have receipts.

    How it works

    1. Select one or more vehicles you're considering.
    2. Tell us how you'll use it — daily commute, family hauling, Uber driving, weekend camping, tight downtown parking — so the advice fits your life.
    3. Type or speak a question in plain English ("Which is more efficient?", "Which has the better third row?", "Is this a good first car for a college student?").
    4. Watch and listen. A synchronized image slideshow plays alongside the spoken answer so you see what's being discussed.
    5. Ask follow-ups. Each session keeps context, so you can drill in without re-stating everything.

    Frequently asked questions

    What is Ask Our Expert?

Ask Our Expert is moblr.com's AI car-advice tool. It pairs an expert persona ("Clive") with our independent meta-review database so you can ask plain-English questions about specific new vehicles — fuel economy, reliability, what it's like to drive, how it compares to a rival — and get an opinionated, data-grounded answer in seconds. Voice input and a synchronized image slideshow are included.

Which vehicles can I ask about?

Any current-model SUV or sedan in the moblr database, including hybrids, plug-in hybrids and EVs. Pick one to get a focused take, or pick two or more to get a head-to-head comparison.

How does Ask Our Expert decide what's good or bad?

Answers are grounded in moblr's aggregated meta-reviews (dozens of professional reviews per vehicle, scored across nine categories) plus hard data like EPA combined MPG, MSRP, and cargo volume. When a numeric fact contradicts a sentiment label, the number wins.

Can I use my voice instead of typing?

Yes. Tap the microphone, speak your question, and your words appear in the text box before being sent. Voice works on iOS Safari and Android Chrome.

Is Ask Our Expert free to use?

Yes. There is no signup or paywall. Ask as many questions as you like.

    How long are the answers?

Single-vehicle answers run roughly 120–160 words; comparisons run 200–235 words. Long enough to be useful, short enough to actually read.

Does it have opinions, or just summarize specs?

It has opinions. If a vehicle is genuinely bad at something — slow charging, cramped third row, a numb steering rack — the answer will say so, with reasoning drawn from the underlying reviews.

How is this different from asking ChatGPT about a car?

General chatbots guess from whatever was on the open web at training time. Ask Our Expert reads from a curated, regularly-updated database of professional reviews and verified specs for the specific trims moblr covers, so its answers stay current and attributable.
